FIVE33′S Friday Fix

Good things always come in threes . . .

Artist Pam Glew opens her UK show ‘Circus’ tonight at the Red Bull Studios in London.

Using vintage flags which she deconstructs and paints, the Circus Series features subjects from classic 60′s films and contemporary icons. . . what’s not to love?

Attention all Tweeps – Tim Burton’s latest project needs you!

Using Twitter, the visionary director has called on his fans to help him write a story for his character Stainboy. Suggest a line for the story by using the hashtag #BurtonStory and at the end of the day the best tweets will be added to the Twitter Tale. The ‘Cadavre Exquis’ is being created to mark the opening of the Tim Burton exhibition at TIFF Toronto having just transferred from MOMA.

A bit of technological music fun to end the fix this week.

The electronic duo CASSIUS have just signed with Ed Banger Records and to celebrate, they have created an interactive music video application for a song.

To sing the new single “I <3 U SO” just download the app, choose between the 8 characteristic mouths to find the one that suits you, put it front of yours, and enjoy!

Let the weekend commence.

FIVE33′s Friday Fix

The release of one of the year’s most hotly anticipated films is fast approaching,

TRON: LEGACY is due to electrify screens next month and though only halfway through November, Tron is everywhere you look!

Its been on the FIVE33 radar a long ol’ while, thanks in large to our amazing print division who created the Japanese campaign. We’ve been itching to show you and now we can . . .

As the incredible neonised universe revs up into full takeover mode, the latest issue of UK indie movie mag Little White Lies is the TRON: LEGACY edition.

Renowned for their stunning front covers, this month depicts a Tronified image of Oscar winner Jeff Bridges as the iconic Kevin Flynn.

The cover’s also available as a limited edition print. We can’t help thinking how nice it would look adorning our wall…

Little White Lies aren’t the only magazine excited about Tron.

The Dazed and Confused December issue features the movie soundtrack maestros Daft Punk.  Not just your average photo-shoot, the French duo are brought to you in eye-popping 3D.  To experience DP in full effect, you’ll need to find some old skool 3D glasses – enjoy!

Just when you thought we were all Tron’d out . . .

The Royal-T café/shop/art space in LA, opened its doors to their very own Tron pop-up experience today.

Not only will they be selling limited-edition Tron clothing, jewelry and design products, you can also take Legacy High Tea at the Tron Café.

Sticking to our computer world theme, we were intrigued to see the cover art for the Black Eyed Peas new album The Beginning. Looks like they’ve stepped into an 8 bit computer world of their very own.

The past 7 days have been pretty hot for new music here at FIVE33 Towers.

Pre-release audio candy from Nicki Minaj and Kanye West have been gearing us up for the weekend.

The Nicki Minaj set is sure to be as huge as her trademark wiggery. Visceral lyrics, phat beats, sweet-sweet melodies and pretty cool album artwork to wig to.

Forever painted the bad boy, let’s remind ourselves that Kanye is indeed an artist! With new album ready to drop, one track stands head and shoulders: All Of The Lights features John Legend, The-Dream, Ryan Leslie, Tony Williams, Charlie Wilson, Elly Jackson (La Roux), Alicia Keys, Fergie, Kid Cudi, Rihanna & Elton John demonstrating the deserved respect the young master-at-work has within the industry away from the glare of the media.

As big a shout as we give to Mr West, Tinchy Stryder outclasses him on every level this week.

Not only has Tinch signed a deal as Jay-Z’s newest partner for Takeover Roc Nation across Europe, he also called in heavyweights Tinie Tempah, Professor Green, Devlin, Example, Chipmunk and Giggs to deliver a jump-up anthem so lively it’s been busting the FIVE33 bass bins noon til night.

The title says everything . . .  Game Over!

The weekend beckons… we out!

Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame

We’re excited to share some of our recent printwork.

The latest work to go public has been the campaign for Chinese epic ‘Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame‘.

The film’s Chinese launch was in September of this year, after which it was nominated for the Golden Lion at the 2010 Venice Film Festival and debuted in North America at the Toronto International Film Festival.

This film has been making some serious waves and we’re proud to have been involved with it.
