FIVE33′s Friday Fix
You made it to the end of the week. Time for your just desserts: The FIVE33 Fix!
First and foremost, huge congratulations to the Royal newlyweds: Prince William and Princess Kate. At the risk of breaking the internet, we’ll keep our mentions of the Royal Wedding to a minimum! Still… try to look at the picture below without feeling a warm glow.

The entire FIVE33 crew has been swashbuckling away this week as we finally unveil our much-anticipated Pirates of the Caribbean takeover of Hot Topic! We’re just one day away from dropping our anchor at Hollywood & Highland, Garden State Plaza and 680 Hot Topic stores from coast to coast. This weekend promises guest appearances by the hot new stars of On Stranger Tides (Astrid Berges-Frisbey and Sam Claflin), displays of the costumes and weaponry used by Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz in the film, exclusive in-store Pirates merchandise, and an unbelievable exhibit of the most infamous ship ever to sail the seven seas. Captain Blackbeard’s bone-chilling vessel, the Queen Anne’s Revenge, gets caught in the stormy waters of a one-of-a-kind Ship in a Bottle spectacle at Westfield’s Garden State Plaza on the East Coast, and in true Hollywood style comes crashing into Hollywood & Highland in the heart of LA.
The “Mall Mutiny” kicks off on Saturday, April 30th… stay glued to FIVE33′s Facebook and Twitter for all the latest updates and exclusive behind-the-scenes content. And speaking of pop culture destinations, our website has been revamped with a vengeance – check out what’s new at FIVE33.com. It’s like the internet just got a little bit more amazing.
Speaking of unsurpassed beauty, all eyes were on the blushing British bride Kate Middleton as the world counted down to a monumental royal wedding. This week, the whole of the fashion industry was focused on a single garment: her wedding dress. Princess Kate’s divine gown was designed by Sarah Burton, who rose to the occasion by artfully marrying contemporary glamour and timeless elegance, yielding some seriously stunning results. Not only did Kate look breathtaking on her big day, but Alexander McQueen‘s legacy in the fashion industry lives on through Burton’s beautiful work.

But that wasn’t the only work of art making waves on our radar. James Jean is a rising star in the LA/worldwide art scene, with a diverse portfolio ranging from gig art to a partnership with Prada, and just about everything in between. With his use of vivid colours and liquid textures to bring imaginative realities to life, it’s not hard to see why he’s in such hot demand.

Worlds collided when Hollywood’s hottest new action star crash landed on Conan (not the Barbarian, the red-headed late night host). Conan had an issue with some of the Thor casting… let us know what you think…
