FIVE33’s Friday Fix

This week gets a spot of colour in the Obliteration Room, a touch of Dior at Selfridges, a dash or Aardman animation, and a VERY special surprise from our very own mythology thespian. And here… we…………… go.

The Queensland Gallery of Modern Art brings us a smile-inducing bit of interactive art compliments of Yayoi Kusama: ”The Obliteration Room”. From immaculate white room (which in itself looks spectacular) to a colorful polka dot explosion, the gallery invited children to get hands-on in bringing this playspace to life. as it’s called, seems more about creation. One person’s ‘obliteration’ is another’s creation.

While we’re on about living in color, Dior repaves the foundation for beauty with a new customizable ’self-serve’ approach to high-end cosmetics. The Dramming Fountain launched at Selfridges in London this week, allowing customers to mix and match shades to their exact skin tone for spot-on results.

For those ready to indie rock their way into the weekend, Expensive Looks is out with their single ‘Nothing More’, ahead of their Dark Matters album due out next month.

Superheroes get brought down to size as our favorite clay-mators over at Aardman Animation herald the arrival of DC Nation on Cartoon Network. You’ll recognize some of your most beloved DC Comic characters, but the voice work is… rather unexpected.

Finally, a knockout punch to finish strong: FIVE33’s own Barnaby Legg delivers a scene-stealing cameo in an exclusive special feature for the Real Steel Blu-Ray. This bonus featurette dives deep into the backstory of robot boxing phenom Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman), with our favourite British WRB historial leading the way. Check out the clip here:
